Yala Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Yala ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any of them, you should not use the App. Yala is developed and operated by Yala ("we", "us").

2. Service Description

Yala is a personal finance app that lets you record and organize your expenses, income, budgets and accounts —in your private iCloud or in your Yala cloud account—, split expenses in groups and ask Yala AI, our artificial intelligence assistant. The App works as a tracking and visualization tool, not as financial advice. Any financial decisions you make based on Yala's information are your sole responsibility.

3. Account and Access

You can use Yala without creating an account: your data stays on your device and in your private iCloud. The cloud account and Groups require you to sign in with Apple or Google. There is no Yala password and no email recovery, so you're responsible for keeping access to that Apple or Google account. Access to the App is personal and non-transferable, and you're responsible for the security of your device and its lock (such as Face ID). You can delete your account at any time from the App, in Profile → "Your Yala account" → "Delete my account".

4. Acceptable Use

By using Yala, you agree to:

• ● Not attempt to access unauthorized features, data, or systems of the App
• ● Not modify, decompile, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the App
• ● Not use the App for illegal or unauthorized purposes

5. Your Data

Your data is stored where you choose: on your device and your private iCloud, where we can't read it, or in your cloud account, on Yala's servers, where our team can see it to give you support and smart features (without end-to-end encryption). Groups data is stored on Yala's servers and is visible to each group's members. The AI features (Yala AI, voice and image) send data to OpenAI through our server, only when you use them. 6. Groups and shared content

Groups lets you share expenses with other people and requires you to sign in with Apple or Google. You're responsible for the content you share and for the people you invite: anyone who receives an invite link can see the group's preview and join while the link is valid. The other members can see the expenses, balances and your alias within the group. If you leave the group or delete your account, the expenses you added stay in the group (under "Deleted user" if you delete your account). Balance calculations are indicative and the feature may contain errors. We're not responsible for disputes between members or for the accuracy of shared data.

7. Intellectual Property

Yala, including its design, code, logos, trademarks, text, and other elements, is the property of Yala or its licensors. Reproduction, distribution, or unauthorized use of any part of the App without our prior written consent is prohibited.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

Yala offers a free version (up to 4 accounts and 3 budgets, with a trial of 5 voice notes and 5 photos in the first steps) and a Pro subscription, which removes those limits and unlocks the Pro features, AI among them, with daily usage limits to protect the service. The cloud account is free, and so is exporting all your data as CSV or Excel. Subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store; payments, renewals and cancellations follow Apple's policies. You can cancel at any time from your Apple account settings.

9. Limitation of Liability

Yala is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet all your expectations. We are not responsible for financial decisions based on information displayed in the App, nor for data loss caused by device malfunction, operating system updates, or accidental deletion.

10. Termination

You can stop using Yala whenever you like. Uninstalling the App erases the data on your device, but not the data in your cloud account or your groups: to erase it, delete your account from the App before uninstalling. We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue the App (or any part of it) with reasonable prior notice. If it's discontinued, we'll make reasonable efforts to let you export your data.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use occasionally. We will notify you of significant changes through an App update. Continued use of Yala after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Peru. Any disputes will be resolved before the competent courts of Lima, Peru.
