1. Your privacy matters

Yala is your personal finance app. Your financial information belongs to you and that's how everything works in Yala. Here we explain transparently how we handle your information.

2. Where your data lives

All your information is stored on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, syncs between your Apple devices.

• ● On your device: Your expenses, accounts, budgets and settings are stored directly on your iPhone or iPad.
• ● No sign-up needed: You don't need to create an account with email or password to use Yala.
• ● No bank connection: Yala doesn't connect to your bank or request banking credentials.

3. iCloud Sync

If you have iCloud enabled, your data automatically syncs between your Apple devices using Apple's private database. Only you can access it — we don't have access. If you don't have iCloud, everything stays on your device.

4. Smart features

When you use voice input, image scanning, or the smart overview (Pro features), your data is processed by OpenAI: • Voice: your audio recording and the transcribed text • Images: the photo you select (compressed, without metadata) • Context: your category names for better classification • Overview: totals, percentages, and spending trends (aggregated data, never individual transactions) No amounts, transaction history, or personal information is sent. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models. Processing is one-time and not stored permanently. These features are optional and only activate when you initiate them. For exchange rates, we query exchangerate.host — only currency codes are sent (e.g., USD, EUR), never your amounts.

5. Anonymous analytics

To understand which features are most useful and improve your experience, Yala collects anonymous usage signals through TelemetryDeck, a European privacy-friendly analytics service. • We only record general actions (e.g., "a transaction was saved", "a budget was created") — never the content of your data (amounts, names, categories). • No device identifier or personal profile is generated. • Data is aggregated and anonymous — neither we nor TelemetryDeck can tell who did what. • It's not shared with third parties or used for advertising. 6. What we DON'T do

• ● We don't sell or share your data with third parties

• ● We don't track your activity individually — we only collect aggregated and anonymous usage data
• ● We don't collect device identifiers

7. Your data, your control

You can view, export (CSV or Excel) and delete all your data anytime from the app. If you uninstall Yala, local data is removed. iCloud data can be managed from your device settings.
